BEE: A STORY OF LOVE
It is surprising how a single topic, a small bee, may give the chance to talk about such fundamental and different themes.
Bees and honey give us access to a wide variety of topics: by observing the perfect structure of the cells, we analyze space and geometry; we can investigate the biology of bees, their life, and their evolutionary history. Looking at the social habits of bees, we can reflect on community life and respect, up to the idea of democracy. Thanks to the essential role that bees play within the ecosystem, we can talk about pollination, biodiversity, environment, pollution.
The honey and its properties allow us to reflect on nutrition.
Finally, with the sensory analysis of food, we understand the importance to devote time to our senses in order to fully enjoy their potentials, something that we very often neglect to do. We will open our eyes, nose and mouth in a new way, so as to listen and describe the organoleptic characteristics of everything that surrounds us. A daily and inattentive action will turn into a conscious gesture.
Nature, environment and nutrition. The bee itself seems to be tailored to intrigue those who are the main characters in dealing with these issues: children.
